Shop Supervisor (Part Time)

Working together with the existing Shop Supervisor (Part Time) to be responsible for the effective operation of the shop.

Reports To: Corporate Partnerships Manager

Salary: Points 11–14, £15,484 - £16,527 pro rata

Department: Income Generation & Marketing

Location: Newtownards Charity Shop

Hours of Work: 25 hours per week including the requirement to work evening and weekend work. Reasonable hours outside of this may be required to fulfil the duties of this position

Job Purpose: Working together with the existing Shop Supervisor (Part Time) to be responsible for the effective operation of the shop.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

1. At least 3 years’ proven experience of achieving results in retail supervisory / management capacity within the retail / sales environment.

2. 5 GCSEs, including English Language and Math’s at Grades A-C (or equivalent qualifications). Applicants who do not have the specified minimum qualifications will be assessed on their ability to demonstrate, by virtue of their experience and/or other relevant information, their competence to meet the demands of the post.

3. Possess effective interpersonal skills.

4. Proven experience in the training and development of others.

5. Flexibility regarding working hours.

6. Target driven sales ethos.

7. Experience of sales floor merchandising and stock display.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

1. Experience of working in and a good operational understanding of the culture within the charity shops sector.

2. A knowledge of the laws relating to charitable trading.
