Sessional Trainers

We are seeking to add to our register of sessional trainers to deliver our Mood Matters mental health awareness programme

We are seeking to add to our register of sessional trainers to deliver our Mood Matters mental health awareness programme to a range of target groups including young people in post-primary schools, parents of young children and adults in community settings and workplaces.

 

We particularly welcome applicants from the following areas, although all applications will be considered.

 

Southern Trust - Newry, Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon areas

South Eastern Trust - Downpatrick, Newcastle and Ballynahinch areas

Western Trust - Derry/Londonderry and Enniskillen areas

Northern Trust, - Coleraine and Ballymena areas

 

Applicants should be experienced trainers and have the necessary enthusiasm and energy to deliver this interactive programme.

 

On completion of training, successful applicants will be paid a sessional rate and mileage allowance where appropriate. Priority will be given to those applicants who have a reasonable amount of daytime availability Monday to Friday. As these posts will involve working with young people and/or vulnerable adults successful applicants will be subject to Access NI checks.

 

Minimum requirements:

 

Essential

  • At least two year’s recent experience of delivering training
  • Good IT skills – in particular competent in the use of power point and online platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams
  • Good knowledge and understanding of mental health/mental illness
  • Access to a suitable means of transport

 

 Desirable

  • Experience of delivering training to young people
  • A recognised training qualification e.g. Award in Training and Education (formerly PTLLS) or higher
  • Qualification/work experience in the field of Mental Health
  • Mental Health First Aid certificate
  • ASIST certificate (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)
