Sessional Counsellors / Psychotherapists - Please note revised criteria

Brooke House Health & Wellbeing Centre

£45.00 per hour
To work as part of the Brooke House Psychological and Counselling Team providing Trauma Focused Therapy in line with organisational need and individual skill sets.

Brooke House is an Ely Centre project, funded by the Chancellor using LIBOR Funds to improve physical and mental health and family wellbeing of its clients. This new service seeks to support retired Royal Ulster Constabulary GC Officers, Reserve Officers, and their families. The project also support veterans of the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force post 2008 and their families who reside in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland.

 JOB SUMMARY

To work as part of the Brooke House Psychological and Counselling Team providing Trauma Focused Therapy in line with organisational need and individual skill sets. This could involve work across all age ranges and within several settings to victims and survivors, retired members of the RUC, Armed Forces and their families.

Outline of duties:

  • To contribute to the work of The Brooke House in the daily delivery of professional, safe and confidential Therapy.
  • Be aware of and comply with the policies, procedures and standards of delivery   in Brooke House, in particular the service’s clinical operations procedures.
  • Manage an allocated clinical caseload in collaboration with the Brooke House Director.
  • Maintain up to date accurate clinical records relating to individual service users, in accordance with Brooke House policies and procedures.
  • Implement and record therapeutic evaluation tools e.g. CORE Net to allow the effective monitoring, review, audit and evaluation of the service provided.  
  • Receive regular individual clinical supervision with Consultant Supervisor in accordance with policies and procedures. 
  • Utilise Brooke House management and consult support systems for effective information sharing, mutual accountability and quality assurance, in particular any issues relating to child protection and areas of risk behaviours or concerns.
  • Support the work of Brooke House by promoting and endorsing its services where appropriate
  • Exercise personal responsibility for the systematic clinical governance of professional practice in your own Counselling practice.
  • Be committed to developing and maintaining your own CPD in relation to Counselling practice.
  • Fulfil your professional body’s code of conduct and follow ethical guidelines in your professional work.
  • Be familiar with relevant local statutory and voluntary sector resources to enable appropriate signposting and referral on to other services.
  • Willing and able to travel as and when required
