Family Service Overview

 

Family support is a specialist service providing flexible, tailored support to the whole family. Staff and volunteers from these services provide opportunities for children and young people to become more involved in the community and make it possible for parents, brothers and sisters to enjoy fuller lives.

 

They do this through:

 

•        Using person centered approaches, based on the hopes and aspirations of the child or young person and their family

•        Regular contact with parents to provide support, information and advice

•        Providing support to children and young people to attend youth groups and activities

•        Offering support groups and activities for brothers and sisters

•        Providing advice and training for the community to enable them to appreciate and welcome the children and young people we support.

 

As the Registered Manager for the Service you will assume responsibility for the delivery of a high-quality Service, to include providing leadership and acting as a role model to all staff. You will ensure the Service is resourced appropriately and expenditure is controlled in line with budget requirements, as well as effectively manage, develop and support staff and volunteers whilst adhering to and promoting Positive Futures’ Policies and Procedures as well as the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) Code of Conduct.

 

Shortlisting criteria

 

  1. Recognised Social Services or Health Service Professional Qualification, OR at least 2 years’ experience working with people with a learning disability 
  2. Relevant experience of supervising staff to include objective setting, supervision, coaching and performance management
  3. 1 years’ experience of assessment, development and implementation of Care Plans / Person Centred Support Plans for children and / or young people
  4. 1 years’ experience of working with families of the people supported
  5. Hold a full and valid UK Drivers Licence and have access to a car insured for business purposes (or willing to amend insurance) to transport the people we support and fulfil the demands of the role.
