NEW YEAR – NEW CHALLENGE!.......BECOME A SEA CADETS VOLUNTEER IN NORTHERN IRELAND

Make more of your free time by becoming a volunteer with Sea Cadets, and help young people to flourish in life.

National youth charity Sea Cadets offers water-based and land-based adventure to 10- to 18-year-olds, helping to boost their confidence and self-belief. All our units are run entirely by volunteers, and if we want to reach as many young people as possible we need people like you to help out. In Northern Ireland, we have vacancies in: Portrush, Ballymena, Larne, Kilkeel, Belfast and Enniskillen.

We need volunteers who are happy to roll up their sleeves, get involved and make a positive difference to the lives of young people in the area. You could show cadets how to sail, powerboat, kayak or windsurf – all while earning nationally recognised qualifications. Volunteers are also needed to teach first aid, football, mountain biking, navigation and drill.

If you would prefer to be more behind the scenes, Sea Cadets has plenty of roles to match your profession, such as helping manage finances and budgets, fundraising for the unit, organising events, writing press releases for local media and building corporate relationships with local businesses.

As a new volunteer, you will receive an induction and will be given training and support to make you feel comfortable in your role. We are always there to provide ongoing help and support.

To find out how you can make a difference to young people’s lives, contact the NI Development Worker, Colleen Burns at [email protected] or call on 07711369327
