This post is funded through the Community Relations Council Core Funding Programme. Appointment will be on a full-time basis (37½ hours per week) for a fixed term until 31 March 2022.

Description:   To contribute to the development of Youth Link’s vision and mission through the implementation of the following three areas of work:

Work Area 1: Engagement: Training, dissemination and integration

  1. Roll-out of ‘Remembering the Past; Shaping the Future’ educational resource to the wider post-primary school and youth sector constituency.
  2. Development and delivery of train-the-trainer workshops to key stakeholders.  
  3. Facilitate awareness-raising and critical thinking workshops in relation to the themes encompassed within the ‘Remembering the Past Shaping the Future’ programme.
  4. Integrate the resources into Youth Link’s existing training curricula.

Work Area 2: Research and Development 

Youth Link will develop its research and resources in relation to the project ‘Remembering the Past; Shaping the Future’ in a way that enhances its engagement strategy. This will include:

  1. Produce a research paper that analyses and outlines the common concerns among young people and their vison for the future.
  2. Develop an oral history archive that gives voice to young people and their experience of the Troubles and the Good Friday Agreement.
  3. Apply the resources to address pastoral concerns surrounding Brexit.
  4. Organise an annual conference with youth workers, teachers, clergy, community leaders and other stakeholders to disseminate Youth Link’s research findings.

Work Area 3: Strategic Engagement and Collaborative Partnerships

The activities within this programme of work will include networking and building relationships with strategic partners. This will be achieved through the following activities:

  1. Collaborate with strategic partners through which the resource can be rolled out.
  2. Present Youth Link’s work at conferences and seminars that align with its organisational vision and mission.
  3. Respond to relevant public consultations.
