The post holder will occupy an important external facing role outside the organisation working with tenants themselves and key stakeholders in the sector.

The Renters Voice project is a new initiative being funded for a 3 year period to strengthen the voice of private renters in Northern Ireland.  Housing Rights intends this work to build on previous work the organisation has undertaken with the Private Tenants Forum.

 

We are seeking applications for a Renters Voice Co-Ordinator to join our organisation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for: building the capacity and confidence of private tenants involved by developing their skills and knowledge and encouraging group participation; helping create a culture that is committed to the principles of tenant involvement in the future development of the sector; actively influencing improvements in legislation, policy and practice in areas relevant to private tenants.

Essential criteria for this post include:-

  • experience of facilitating the involvement of the public (at individual or group level) to actively and positively communicate their views;
  • a good understanding of social justice issues and government policies relevant to vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.
