The role is to manage our Adult Day Services (including Day Care and Day Opportunities) in accordance with RQIA Provider Guidance for Day Care Settings, Day Care Setting minimum standards and organisational quality management systems.

To achieve registration of a new Day Care Service. The current Day Services include a large Training College of 5 workshops servicing 23 attenders, 4 additional day opportunities workshops servicing 25 attenders.

The post holder will be responsible for the Adult Day Services for both residents and day only attenders and will initially report to the Head of Social Care.

Essential Criteria:

  • Registered  with NISCC or NMC or HPC
  • Professional Social Work Qualification OR a first level Registered nurse OR Allied Health Professional OR QCF Level 5 diploma in Health and Social Care (Residential or Adult Management/Care Setting  or Leadership) AND Eligible for Registration with RQIA as per minimum standards for Registered Manager for Day Care Setting
  • Minimum of 5 years’s experience in any health and/or social care setting
  • Of  which at least 2 years must be in relevant operational management capacity in H&SC
  • Experience of project management
  • Experience in a residential home OR Supported Living OR Domicillary Care or Care Centre
  • Employed or Full Time Voluntary experience with a Vulnerable Group
  • Experience of managing direct reports
  • Clear understanding and commitment to Adult Safeguarding, Health and Safety
  • The ability to lead a team and work as part of a team
  • Ability to plan and organise
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using standard office IT applications such as Word, Excel, Internet and Email
  • Hold a full current driving license valid for use in UK and Ireland and have access to a car on appointment

 

Desirable Criteria:           

  •  Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
  • QCF Level 5 in Leadership/ Adult Management/ Care Setting
  • 2 years’ experience working within a social care setting for individuals with learning disabilities
  • Experience of developing reports and timely response to operational and strategic objectives
  • Experience of budgeting and managing finances
  • Proven experience in community development, establishing of projects for charitable organisations
  • Experience of regulatory inspection
  • Working with Health & Social Care Trusts including familiar with MDT’s and Care Plans
  • Experience/Awareness of Day Opportunity activities such as farm, market garden, creative workshops and activities
  • Experience/understanding of programmes to maximise potential such as AQA Awards scheme
  • Experience/understanding of Therapeutic Interventions such as Positive Behavioural Support.
