Regional Co-ordinator - The Next Chapter Project

The Next Chapter project is supported by the European Union’s PEACE IV Programme and overseen by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB) until 31 December 2019. Politics Plus is the lead partner and works in partnership with the NI Council for Voluntary Action and Irish Rural Link. The Next Chapter aims to improve representation of women in public and political life to create a more gender-sensitive society, which will in turn create positive working relationships between Catholics and Protestants and between those of mixed ethnic / race background. Ten Chapters have been set up in Northern Ireland and the Border Regions, members have started capacity building training and an Ambassadors’ Forum has been held. The women involved with the project will also be facilitated to develop a community development project, engage in public consultation, be involved in peace & reconciliation events and develop E-zines and pod-casts.
