The Project Officer will provide a range of interventions that will enable individuals engaging in the service to overcome barriers and become more independent.

The Cedar Foundation is seeking to recruit the following staff member:

The Cedar Foundation deliver a range of services centred around the individual needs of each person and enabling people with disabilities to get the most out of life and to be fully included in their communities.

 

The Project Officer will provide a range of interventions that will enable individuals engaging in the service to overcome barriers and become more independent.

 

Purpose of the Job: 

 

  • To identify, assess, plan and facilitate a range of individual strategies and activities to promote personal resilience and improve access to mainstream community provision.
  • To develop a customised programme of community-based activity for individuals with ASD (and their family if applicable) that will encourage their engagement within local community.
  • To facilitate personal development programmes tailored to individual needs of the service users.
  • To develop and maintain a professional, empathetic and informative working relationship with individuals, families, carers, advocates and other professionals.

 

Hours:                                    30 hours per week.

 

Contract:                               Permanent

 

Locations:                              The Cedar Foundation,  Unit 2 Bridge House, Omagh Road, Dromore, Co Tyrone, BT78 3AH

 

Salary:                                   3 point incremental scale starting at £22,462 per annum (pro rata)

 

Essential Criteria:

                               

  • 3rd Level or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, i.e. Psychology, Education, Community Work or Health & Social Care
  • AND
  • Minimum of 1 year’s paid experience in assessing the needs of individuals with ASD and developing strategies to enhance their social interaction and independent skills

OR

  • QCF Level 3 in a relevant discipline and three years’ experience as above

AND

  • 1 years paid experience of working with adults with ASD
  • Experience in partnership working
  • Proficiency in IT skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Hold a full current driving licence valid for use in the UK and Ireland and have access to a car on appointment.

 

This criterion will be waived in the case of a suitable applicant who has a disability which prohibits them from driving but who is able to organise suitable alternative arrangements in order to meet the requirements of the post in full.
