The Cedar Foundation is seeking to recruit the following staff member: Role: Project Officer – Inclusion Matters REF: 19/133/IMPO-SEHSCT-WEB
The overall aim of the Inclusion Matters service is to offer support to enable people with physical disabilities and brain injury living in Lisburn to engage in activities in their local community.
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Temporary 9 months (maternity cover) with possible extension
Location: South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust area (Lisburn)
Salary: 3 point incremental scale starting on £22,462 pro rata per annum
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum QCF Level 5 / Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as Health & Social Care; and
- Minimum of one year’s paid experience of supporting people with disabilities or other vulnerable individuals in the direct provision of education, training or support.
OR
- Minimum QCF Level 3 or equivalent; and
- Minimum of three year’s paid experience of supporting people with disabilities or other vulnerable individuals in the direct provision of education, training or support.
- Experience of building positive relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant public bodies and community organisations that can support social and community engagement.
- Hold a full current driving licence valid for use in the UK and Ireland and have access to a car on appointment.*
*This criterion will be waived in the case of a suitable applicant who has a disability which prohibits them from driving but who is able to organise suitable alternative arrangements in order to meet the requirements of the post in full.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in working with adults with physical and sensory disabilities;
- Experience of in a community development role;
- Experience & understanding of the barriers in relation to disability;
- Previous experience of inter-agency working;
- Demonstrable facilitation and group work skills.
