Community Relations In Schools (CRIS) is a peacebuilding and education charity that works in partnership with schools, district councils and other statutory providers to positively and systematically address the separated context of living in Northern Ireland. Purpose of the Post:

To be a core member of the CRIS Senior Management team supporting the realisation of the organisation’s Vision and Mission by leading the development, delivery, facilitation and evaluation of CRIS programmes with children, school staff, parents/ carers, and other stakeholders.

Job Title:                                 Programme Manager

Anticipated Interview Date: Wednesday 12th or Thursday 13th August 2020        

(NB:  Due to the current health crisis, interviews may be held by video call.  Shortlisted applicants will be further updated)

 

Salary scale:                            £27,000 - £31,000 per annum

Hours:                                     37.5 hours per week (occasional evening work may be necessary)

Contract:                                1st Sep 2020 – 31st Mar 2022

(Permanent post pending continued funding beyond Mar 2022)

 

Responsible to:                      CRIS Director

Place of Work:                        The ‘Programme Manager’ will operate from the CRIS office and will regularly travel to schools and other venues across Northern Ireland.

Depending on national and public health guidance, the successful applicant may begin working in remote conditions with direct support from the CRIS Director and wider staff team.

Closing Date:                          12 noon Monday 27th July 2020

 

Circumstances:  Access to a car is necessary to travel between sites to carry out the tasks associated with this role.  Applicants must possess a full and valid driving licence. Employees will be required to provide proof of car insurance to allow for work related use.  Please note these driving criteria will be waived in the case of an applicant whose disability prohibits driving but who is able to demonstrate their ability to meet the mobility requirements of the post.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

CRIS has been in receipt of Core funding from the Northern Ireland Community Relations Council, (NICRC) since 2014. These funds enable the organisation to realise its strategic vision through the delivery of operational plans. This post is generously supported by the Community Relations Council.

Within this new core funding period (2019 – 2022), CRIS has committed to undertake the following:

  1. Maintain, develop and grow the sustainability of existing multi-sector school partnerships that use Good Relations and peacebuilding as a means to address the separated nature of education in Northern Ireland.
  2. Support the establishment and growth of multi-sector collaborative school partnerships in new localities in Northern Ireland.
  3. Support the growth of inter-school community reconciliation programmes that engage staff, pupils and families in North and West Belfast.
  4. Collate, develop and disseminate practice resources for the education, community and peace sectors. This is inclusive of development work on the CRIS Website.
