We are looking for a Practitioner Support Officer (Part-time) who will be responsible for supporting frontline practitioners to provide advice on housing and homelessness issues by supporting their information needs in a range of areas.  This will involve maintaining knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and practice areas and identifying and reviewing good practice to contribute to the development of innovative solutions to housing/homelessness and related issues.

Essential Criteria for this post include:

  • Experience of writing, designing, editing and preparation of content in at least two of the following areas:
    • Articles for a public facing website
    • Information resources e.g. guides, information booklets
    • Draft legislative responses
    • Press/journal articles
    • Other
  • Experience of representing an organisation to a range of audiences including the public.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation, organisation and facilitation of meetings/group discussions.
  • A good understanding of social justice issues and government policies relevant to vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.
