The Positive Behaviour Support Worker (PBSW) is part of the team whose function is to meet the practical, physical, social and emotional needs of individuals who have learning disabilities and associated needs receiving services within the PBS.

 

The Cedar Foundation is seeking to recruit the following staff members:

The Positive Behaviour Support Worker (PBSW) is part of the team whose function is to meet the practical, physical, social and emotional needs of individuals who have learning disabilities and associated needs receiving services within the PBS.

The Positive Behaviour Support Worker (PBSW) will provide the highest standard of person centred support and care to people who live at The Mews/Johnston Way PBS and will deliver Cedar’s mission of providing quality support, care and accommodation to service users by upholding the organisation’s values of commitment, excellence, diversity, accountability and respect.

The Positive Behaviour Support Worker (PBSW) will ensure their own actions and behaviour complies with Cedar’s policies and procedures in addition to statutory regulations and quality standards.

Hours: Various contracts available

Salary: £16,911 per annum, pro rata from 37 hour week - (equivalent to £8.79 per hour)

Contract: Permanent

Location: Johnston Way, Lisburn/ The Mews, West Belfast

 

Essential:

  • Numeracy & literacy (English language) skills to help maintain records, such as service user monies, support documentation.
  • Registered or willing to apply for registration with the N. Ireland Social Care Council. Once offer of employment has been made, applicants must register with NISCC.
  • NVQ/ QCF2(in health & social care or equivalent)
  • Demonstrable evidence of 1 years care/support experience within the last 2 years with experience of providing physical care / support for service users.

Desirable:

  • NVQ/QCF3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent or willing to attain with Cedar
  • Math and English GCSE’s at Grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • Experience of working as part of a team.
  • Experience of person centred support planning.
  • 6 months experience of paid employment in a care and/ or housing support role or ability to demonstrate equivalent experience in informal or voluntary support / care work in a positive behaviour environment.
  • Awareness of ‘Supporting People’ and RQIA (Regulation & Quality Improvement Authority
