Personal Assistants - Lisburn and Bangor Families Services
Positive Futures
Positive Futures is the leading charity for people with a learning disability, acquired brain injury or autistic spectrum condition and their families.
- Do you believe that people with disabilities have the same rights as everybody else?
- Do you believe they should have the same choices?
- Do you want a job where you can really make a difference
Due to demand we are recruiting personal assistants within our Lisburn and Bangor Families services and working on an as and when required basis.
Shifts are as and when required. Contracted hours may be available for those able to commit to regular and consistent support. Hours may operate between 9am – 10pm throughout the 7 day week. On occasion flexibility with support hours will be expected to meet the needs of people we support.
You will support adults and/or children with a learning disability, acquired brain injury or autistic spectrum condition to take part in activities which meet their individual needs and aspirations. We provide one to one and small groups social opportunities and a range of activities such as arts and crafts, cookery, sports, walks in the park and many more.
Please be aware that support provided will be in line with Covid-19 regulations, this will be constantly reviewed and change to match requirements and advice. We pride ourselves on being a person-centred service and therefore our activities are planned around the likes, interests and abilities of the people we support.
Essential Criteria;
- Experience of supporting an individual with Learning disability, autistic spectrum condition or acquired brain injury
- Possession of a full and valid UK Drivers Licence* and access to a car, insured for business purposes (or willing to amend insurance) to enable the people we support, to be transported as required within their support plan
* This criterion can be waived for those applicants unable to meet it due to having a disability.
