We have these vacancies within our Family Support and Self Directed Support Services in Bangor and Lisburn:

Personal Assistants

£8.50 per hour

Shifts are as and when required. Contracted hours may be available for those able to commit to regular and consistent support. Support hours will mostly be between 2-10pm Monday to Friday and daytime hours at the weekend. On occasion flexibility with support hours will be expected to meet the needs of people we support.

You will support adults and/or children with a learning disability, acquired brain injury or autistic spectrum condition to take part in activities which meet their individual needs and aspirations. We provide social opportunities and a range of activities such as arts and crafts, cookery, swimming, sports, eating out, accompanying the people we support to the cinema or soft play area, bowling, and going to the shops. We pride ourselves on being a person-centred service and therefore our activities are planned around the likes, interests and abilities of the people we support.

What do you do with your afternoons?  Our group go swimming every Monday and Friday afternoon – the kids love nothing more than splashing in the water, having races, relaxing in the jacuzzi, chatting to friends and learning new skills at every session.  Does this sound like something you would enjoy? We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate and friendly staff to join us and be a part of helping to shape the futures of the children and young people with a learning disability that we support.  

We also have opportunities to support adults on a 1-1 basis to enjoy everyday activities such as going for a coffee, going to the cinema, working out at the gym and meeting their friends.  

If you can be available between 2pm and 5.30pm week days (sometimes we might need you up to 10pm, and occasionally some time at the weekend) and if you have experience of supporting individuals with a learning disability, acquired brain injury or autistic spectrum condition and a full driving licence and access to a car insured for business purposes* to transport people supported we would like to talk to you.

• Experience of supporting individuals with a learning disability, acquired brain injury or autistic spectrum condition
• A full driving licence and access to a car insured for business purposes* to transport people supported

* Consideration will be given to those candidates unable to meet this criteria due to a disability
