The Cedar foundation deliver a range of services centred around the individual needs of each person and enabling people with disabilities to get the most out of life and to be fully included in their communities.

The Cedar Foundation is seeking to recruit the following staff member:

Outlook Project Worker for their Short Breaks delivery Service                                                   

The Short Breaks service provides  social and emotional support to children with disabilities, autism and brain injury within a small group setting to enable them to develop friendships and access social and recreational opportunities within their local community, whilst providing parents and carers with a regular short break.

The service provides parents and carers with;

  • A regular short break from care
  • The opportunity for time to themselves to go shopping, socialise, spend time with other siblings or  simply have some well-earned rest.
  • A consistent and reliable service delivered by individuals who they can trust to take care of their child and their child’s needs.

And provides children and young people with;

  • The opportunity to have fun and take part in planned  group activities outside of the family environment.
  • The opportunity to meet new people, develop new friendships and to take part in social opportunities available within their local community

Hours:                                   15 Hours per Week
Contract:                              Temporary (1 year initially)
Location:                              Moyle Area of the Northern Trust
Salary:                                  3 point incremental scale starting on £19,554 pro rata

Essential Criteria:     
      
                  

  • Basic qualification to RQF Level 2 or equivalent in Health & Social Care, Youth & Community Work or related field.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience providing support to young people  
  • Hold a full current driving licence valid for use in the UK and Ireland and have access to a car on appointment*

*This criterion will be waived in the case of a suitable applicant who has a disability which prohibits them from driving but who is able to organise suitable alternative arrangements in order to meet the requirements of the post in full.
