CAJ is an independent, non-governmental, human rights organisation which seeks to secure the highest standards in the administration of justice in Northern Ireland by ensuring that the government complies with its responsibilities in international human rights law. It currently has a staff team of seven and an annual turnover of approximately £400k. CAJ Ltd is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee.
The main duties of this post are to ensure that CAJ Ltd complies with all its statutory duties and obligations and the requirements of operational effectiveness in administrative, financial and personnel matters. Amongst other things, this will involve managing the office and participating with partner organisations in the management of the shared office building; all financial administration and record-keeping, including PAYE and the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts; and overseeing personnel matters, including recruitment, volunteer management, and personnel policies and procedures.
The post is full time (35 hours per week), with 30 days annual holiday, plus statutory days, and is Belfast based. The salary scale is NJC Scale Points 23 to 28, £28,226 to £32,798 p.a. with 8% salary employer’s pension contribution. Starting point on this scale will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
