12 month maternity cover

Working 28 hours per week, including some evenings, weekends and overnights

Home based role, requiring extensive travel throughout Northern Ireland and occasional travel to other areas of the UK

Hearing Link is a UK charity for people with any level of hearing loss, their family and friends. Our vision is a world where everyone can enjoy life and participate fully and confidently, whatever their level of hearing. ‘Connect Hear NI’ is an innovative 5-year project in Northern Ireland, funded by the National Lottery offering new ways for adults with hearing loss to reconnect with their families and communities and to embrace experiences they are commonly excluded from.

We are now recruiting for a Project Manager to oversee Connect Hear NI, covering a maternity leave vacancy. We are looking for someone who is creative, motivated, well organised and has enthusiasm for engaging with volunteers. The ideal applicant will have proven experience of successfully delivering projects through volunteer led activities, will have excellent communication skills and will have an understanding of the impact of living with long term disabilities.

 

Key tasks of the role:

* Support the Chair of the volunteer led NI Steering Group to develop and grow activities in NI

* Recruit volunteers and help establish volunteer teams in all 5 NI Health and Social Care Trust areas

* Support the growth of peer-led group based activities

* Contribute to effective team working to support all areas of UK wide Hearing Link activity

* Some line management responsibility

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. This is in relation to the Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults. Applicants will therefore be required to disclose all convictions (spent and unspent), cautions, warnings and reprimands and any relevant non-conviction information. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Access NI Check (under the terms of the Police Act 1997 (Part V).
