Northern Ireland Advisory Committee Member Vacancies
Stroke Association
We work in partnership with all five Health and Social Care Trusts in Northern Ireland. As well as lobbying for prevention and improved stroke care we provide the following direct services
- A Stroke Recovery Service for advice and support which helps stroke survivors work towards regaining independence
- Speech and Language Therapy for stroke survivors who have a communication disability as a result of a stroke
- A network of peer support groups throughout Northern Ireland.
Description of duties
The Committee is a consultative and advisory body which advises management, officers and Stroke Association Trustees on business and strategic issues related to research, the prevention of stroke, and the care and support needed by people affected by stroke in Northern Ireland.
Profile of candidates sought
We are looking to fill a number of positions and are keen to receive enquiries from all sections of the community. While knowledge or interest in stroke is desired it is not essential. We would particularly welcome people with skills and experience in the following areas:
Marketing and Public Relations
Fundraising
Approx. Time Commitment
Committee meetings are 4 times a year for approximately 2.5 hours. Committee members will also be asked to represent the organisation at stakeholder events or task and finish groups, on an ad hoc basis. Positions are voluntary and travel expenses are covered.
