We are looking for a part-time Manager in Northern Ireland to support and represent our members in Northern Ireland.

Making Music is the UK association for leisure-time music, with a membership of 3,600 music groups, comprising around 200,000 hobby musicians. We support members with practical services to help them run their groups, and with artistic development opportunities; we run meetings and events for them; we celebrate their achievements and speak on their behalf to partners and policy makers.

The Manager, Northern Ireland, delivers this work in Northern Ireland, and we are looking for someone who is:

  • a good communicator, in person and in writing
  • able to build and maintain good relationships with our 40 member groups in Northern Ireland (and grow that number)
  • experienced at setting up and running meetings and events, including performances (e.g. for Make Music Day each 21 June)
  • comfortable representing Making Music to a range of stakeholders, and able to develop and sustain partnerships with relevant organisations (e.g. Voluntary Arts, Ulster Orchestra, Association of Irish Choirs, etc.)

This post is for 1 day a week (7 hrs); and can be worked flexibly, from home or a desk-sharing facility can be arranged. There will be travel involved, and some evening and weekend work. Salary £30k pro rata (=£6k a year for 1 day per week).
