Keeping in Touch Visitor Volunteer - Ballymena

Parkinson's UK is looking for a Keeping in Touch Visitor Volunteer to help with building a relationship with our members to reduce loneliness and help them to keep in touch with the local group they once enjoyed.

Giving time to a person with Parkinson's can empower them, improve their physical and mental wellbeing and build self-esteem.

What will you do as a Keeping in Touch Visitor Volunteer?

  • Deliver a monthly visit to establish an enjoyable and supportive relationship
  • Deal appropriately with confidential and sensitive material

What we're looking for

You will have:

  • Awareness of the needs of the person with Parkinson's at all times (a knowledge of Parkinson's is desirable, but a willingness to learn if there is limited knowledge)
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
