INTEGRATED FLOATING SUPPORT AND HOUSING WORKER LISBURN

Full Time, Permanent

Overall objective of the INTEGRATED role:

Newry, Downpatrick, Lisburn and Belfast are Integrated Floating and Housing Services. Floating Support supports young people who are homeless, ‘sofa surfing’ and at risk of eviction, to access and maintain accommodation in the community. The Housing Service (Move in to Move On) provides supported housing for young people who are homeless or leaving care to make the transition to interdependent living and their own tenancy.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION – ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY POST HOLDER:

CRITERIA 1:

• 2 years’ experience of working with young people aged 16-25 with housing support needs in a supported housing environment or within the community.

                                                0r

• Degree in Social Work, youth and community Work or similar
• 1 years’ experience of working with young people aged 16-25 in the community               

       

CRITERIA 2:

• Experience of supporting 16-25 year olds who are homeless or at risk of eviction and need support to maintain accommodation
• Have developed a range of contacts, networks and resources to support 16-25 year olds to access and maintain accommodation

 

CRITERIA 3:

• Experience of supporting 16-25 year olds to access and maintain appropriate benefits or income

 

CRITERIA 4:

• Can develop own approach to practice based on reflection and feedback
• Can be resilient and compassionate in a challenging environment

 

CRITERIA 5:

• A full current driving license and access to a car is required so as to be able to meet the requirements of the post in full

 

Salary: £21,388 per annum and pension at 4% of salary
