The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission invites applications for the following position: Independent Chairperson of the Audit and Risk Management Committee.

The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission is a statutory body with a wide range of functions relating to the promotion and protection of human rights.

Applications are invited for the following position:

Independent Chairperson of the Audit and Risk Management Committee

The Chairperson of the Audit and Risk Management Committee will ensure that the Committee fulfils its responsibilities and duties as laid out in the Committee’s Terms of Reference.  S/he will also ensure that the Committee works in partnership with the Accounting Officer to ensure an effective relationship between the Committee and the Commission and they will provide advice and guidance on audit and risk related matters to the Commission as and when required.

The Committee comprises an independent Chairperson and three Commissioners. This position carries a 3 year tenure.  The successful applicant must commit to a minimum of four meetings per year, with additional meetings as agreed. This is a paid role, remunerated at £350 per meeting (or equivalent for other additional work to be agreed in advance).
