High Performance Football Coach - Goalkeeping Register

The Belfast Met Football Academy require a High Performance Football Goalkeeping Coach to provide coaching and technical support to the Academy Athletes and Teams.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To work under the direction and guidance of the Curriculum Area Manager for Sport to provide high performance coaching and technical support to the Belfast Met Football Academy, in addition to managing one of the Academy teams.
  • Assist and support the Football Academy Co-ordinator in the development and implementation of a High Performance Plan for the Belfast Met Football Academy
  • Liaise with National Governing Bodies, Local and National Team representatives, support staff and academic teams in strategic and operational matters.
  • Co-ordinate and deliver appropriate talent ID and player selection and recruitment opportunities
  • Produce and implement a comprehensive training and competition programme for identified players/teams
  • In conjunction with the Football Academy Coaching Co-ordinator and ancillary support staff, organise and deliver appropriate coaching and technical support to identified players/teams
  • Travel with designated team to local and international competition where appropriate.
  • Implement effective monitoring, benchmarking and evaluation systems  to ensure high quality service provision within the Belfast Met Football Academy
  • Provide regular reports to the Football Academy Coaching Co-ordinator and Curriculum Area Manager on team management and player development, including the monitoring of technical and tactical development, physiological and psychological assessment, and lifestyle management.
  • Provide effective mentoring and pastoral support to designated players, and provide player progress reports to academic tutors and parents.
  • Engage in appropriate marketing and promotional activities for the Belfast Met Football Academy where appropriate

General

  • Undertake all reasonable administrative duties directly relating to the post
  • To ensure the effective application of health and safety procedures, child protection and equal opportunity policies
  • To contribute to the achievement of the College’s mission, values and strategic directions.
  • To interact with all other support staff, departments and curriculum schools to ensure the effective operation of the Belfast Met Football Academy
  • To promote, implement and ensure compliance with all statutory obligations and College policies and procedures in particular the College’s Equality Scheme and Equal Opportunities Policy and actively promote equality and good relations in all aspects of college business.

 

  • Further Education is an ever changing service and all staff are expected to participate constructively in College activities and to adopt a flexible approach to their work.

The post is a Previously Controlled Activity Position as defined by the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups NI Order 2007.
