The Head of Social Care will be responsible for the social care governance of the registered services. The residents within Glencraig can have complex needs, including learning difficulties of different kinds.

Situated in extensive grounds at Craigavad, Camphill community Glencraig exists to provide care, support and education for children, young people and adults with learning difficulties and, often, challenging behaviours.

Our approach is based on anthroposophy, a philosophy developed from the work of Karl Konig and Rudolf Steiner which recognises the uniqueness of each individual and focuses on the building of life-sharing community, adopting a creative, supportive and therapeutic approach and an openness to learn from each other and sustaining inclusivity, security and protection.

If the successful candidate is not already familiar with and supportive of this ethos, there will be an expectation of the willingness to learn and give it their full support.

Glencraig includes a 55 bedded Registered Adult residential service, a Registered Children’s home, a range of Adult day services which will include a registered day care centre (application underway). Glencraig Special Schools is also on the campus for resident children and day pupils.

The residents within Glencraig can have complex needs, including learning difficulties of different kinds.  They are taught and cared for in purpose-built accommodation and facilities by a combination of support work, all of whom are accountable to the Chief Executive.
