The post holder will provide leadership and have full managerial responsibility for the operational functions of the PCC including: the Advocacy / Complaints Support Service, Personal and Public Involvement Service, Research and External Relations & Policy. He/she will be responsible for the development and the delivery of operational and performance targets within approved budgets, human resources, quality and governance targets, research governance and ethics.
The post holder reports to the Chief Executive and works closely with the Head of Development and Corporate Services as a member of the Executive Team.
The post holder will have responsibility, alongside the Chief Executive and Head of Development and Corporate Services, for representing and presenting the work of the PCC at all levels of health and social care decision making; and to a wide range of external stakeholders including when necessary the media. As a regional organisation, regular travel is required to various locations across Northern Ireland. Occasional travel elsewhere may also be needed. Work outside of normal office hours to meet business needs will be required.
The post holder is responsible for leading and developing the operational functions and services that support the fulfilment of these duties.
The post requires an individual who can establish and maintain a high level of credibility as an expert in his/her field. The individual will be required to show tenacity and have the ability to transfer high level thinking into practical working solution.
