Group Leader

As part of Glencraig Adult services, the Group Leader will enable young adults and adult residents who have learning disabilities and challenging behaviour, to pursue a valued lifestyle by supporting them with personal care as well as with social, emotional, spiritual and daily activity needs.  The Group Leader will mentor and supervise the Support Team within the Adult Residential Department.  

Salary:                               5 point incremental scale commencing on £24,294 to £27,352 per annum dependent on level of qualification

Hours of Work:               40 hours per week, fully flexible to include unsocial hours, evenings and weekends

Length of Contract:        Permanent

Essential Criteria:          

• NVQ Level 4 in Health & Social Care OR a diploma/certificate to National Occupational Standards in a Health & Social Care related discipline
• Registered or agreeable to applying for registration with the N. Ireland Social Care Council
• Demonstrable evidence of 1 years’ experience working with people in a care/support capacity within the last 2 years
• Be flexible to work on a rota basis that includes unsocial hours and weekends

Desirable Criteria:         

• QCF Level 5 In Health and Social Care/Adult Residential Management
• Experience in running or assisting in the running of a house for residents with learning disabilities
• Experience of managing staff and/or volunteers
