Graduate Internship Programme

Belfast Bible College

N/A
30.00
We are excited to offer a range of internships at Belfast Bible College to give graduates an opportunity to gain skills and experience to help with their vocational development.

What type of role could you apply for? Here are a few options…

Student Worker

The Community Life Intern/Student Worker works alongside the Community Life Facilitator in organising, promoting and developing the community aspects of the College - which currently include regular worship services, mission sessions and small groups for staff and students. There will be opportunity to be involved in any or all of these, depending on your gifts and interests.

In addition you will assist with Community Life administration. The position would be best suited to a theology graduate who is seeking experience of working in a Christian College community, supporting students in their personal and spiritual development, practical training and College relationships. You’ll need good administrative skills, a love for young people and the ability to work as part of a team.

Communications & Media Internship

We are looking for graduates who have skills in any area of communications and want the opportunity to gain workplace experience in communicating to a wide Christian audience from a professional communications office. Using social media, email, printed material, website and video platforms this is a great way to learn how to take projects from concepts through to distribution.

If you are a filmmaker or videographer, you could be involved in production of videos; both taking part in larger projects and the opportunity to direct, shoot and edit your own short films. Telling stories about how God is using our current and former students. Also helping to produce short videos that help explain theology in creative ways.

If you’re a designer then we would love to give you opportunities to learn how to design and create graphics and publication which share the life of the College, promote courses, communicate theology in clear and interesting ways.

If you are a writer or photographer then spend time observing and creating both the day-to-day life of the College but also stories about what God is doing across the Church in Northern Ireland.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of a creative team, to use your creative skills to serve God, learn how to use them in a professional context and to support and encourage the wider church through quality content.

Hostel Supervisor

The Hostel Supervisor is ideally a caring and energetic individual who likes to work with others to create a happy and well-disciplined atmosphere in hostels, reflective of the Christian values, ethos & culture of the wider College.

As the supervisor you’ll be allocated accommodation within the hostels & as such will be an important part of the College’s residential community.

You’ll need a mature attitude and the ability to demonstrate a genuine warmth and interest in the students. You should also be an effective and harmonious individual, willing to be part of a hardworking team with a mature Christian faith.

Operations Assistant

We’re looking for someone who is well organised and enjoys being busy to assist the Operations Coordinator in a variety of areas. This could include facility and event management, reception, hostel accommodation as well as general administrative & routine tasks.

Occasional evening and weekend work may be requested, based on special event schedules & bookings.

What we need from you…

  • Third level education
  • A willingness to commit to the vision, purpose and values of the College
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, preferably in a previous ministry context
  • Strong communication and relational skills
  • Relevant legal permission to work/intern in the UK

What we offer

Experience of Christian Service
As an intern, you’ll get to work as part of a team under the supervision and leadership of an experienced manager. Within this context, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your giftings by assisting us in areas of College life such as hostel supervision, media & communications, student work or within a general operations role. Exact internship roles will be tailored to your skills and experience and will be designed to give you a range of experience with increasing levels of experience and complexity.

Christian Community

You’ll have the opportunity to live & serve in a multi-denominational and cross-cultural learning community, different from your own. You’ll also get to work within a Christian community where prayer & other faith expressions are a feature of our workplace.

Space for Growth

Belfast Bible College design courses to be training for life, and suitable for anyone wanting to develop their Christian perspective and mind-set to their daily life. As an intern, you’ll be able to participate in some of these courses to enable you to develop spiritually and intellectually as well as be provided with training & mentoring to help develop you professionally in your role. We’ll also carve out time for group sessions with other interns, with a focus on personal growth & maturity.

Minimal Cost

To help facilitate your role within our community, you’ll be offered free hostel accommodation during your time with us. As an intern living with other interns, you’ll be expected to provide support in relation to the smooth running of the hostels.

Coffee break & lunch is provided free of charge during term time only.

Flexibility

Flexible start date and end dates however we recommend a minimum 10 month commitment for the maximum benefit of our internship program, but feel free to communicate with us if your individual situation requires flexibility. The programme typically requires availability of up to 30 hours per week but this will depend on your individual circumstances and the specific needs of the role. In your free time, we would encourage you to get a part-time job to support yourself, serve in your local church and enjoy some free time.

Take Note

These roles are voluntary, although we will reimburse any pre–agreed work-related expenses.
