Clare Lodge, located in Newcastle, Co. Down. In line with our in support of SVPs charitable purpose, the centre primarily offers short breaks and respite for families, groups and individuals in a relaxing and safe environment.

General Manager Clare Lodge

Clare Lodge is relatively new purpose built accommodation centre, situated just off the Newcastle promenade Co. Down, which offers short breaks and respite for families and individuals in a relaxing and safe environment. It has 18 rooms and provides full catering for all visitors/residents.  

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: SVP Clare Lodge, Newcastle, Northern Ireland (North) with travel to other sites as required.

Reports To: Regional President or appointed representative of Regional Council / Board 

Hours:  37 hours per week

(Shift patterns including evening and weekend work). Reasonable additional hours may be required to support the needs of the business. 

Pension: 5% employer contribution, 5% employee contribution 

Salary:  £30,000 – £35,000 

Clare Lodge is seeking to recruit an ambitious, enthusiastic, passionate individual who has the confidence to:

  • To nurture, build and develop strong relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Market and develop Claire Lodge to maximise occupancy and usage within the ethos of SVP
  • Provide leadership and direction to motivate and inspire the Clare Lodge staff team to ensure the highest standard of customer service to all guests and stakeholders

The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills and be a results focused individual who has strong experience of successfully delivering growth and achieving outcomes within hospitality / centre management. 

It is essential that the successful post-holder shares the ethos and Values of SVP including: Customer Focused, Integrity, Respect, Continuous Improvement, Personal Responsibility, Trust and Co-operation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop a strategic plan with objectives aligned to SVPs charitable purpose to maximise occupancy and usage of the centre and deliver income generation to offset costs and support activities
  • Implement the strategy to maximise occupancy and usage of the centre within the overall ethos of SVP.
  • Ensure the smooth day to day operation and management of Clare Lodge and ensure the highest standard of service to all guests and users.
  • Lead and manage the team to ensure day to day direction is provided.
  • Review Clare Lodge specific policies and procedures and propose updates to ensure an environment of continuous improvement, highest customer service and value for money.
  • Ensure compliance and health and safety.
