Family Care Adoption Services provide a Life Story Service to young people who are Care experienced or have been Adopted and are recruiting a FULL TIME PROJECT WORKER.

Family Care Adoption Services has been funded by the National Lottery Community Fund to provide a Life Story Service to young people who are in Care, post Care or who have been Adopted. The Project is funded until April 2024 and we are recruiting a FULL TIME PROJECT WORKER based in our Belfast office.

The main aspects of the Project Worker role are to:

Work with the Project Team in delivering a Life Story service to children and young people appropriately referred to the Life Story Project from all five Health & Social Care Trusts. 

Assist in operation of young advocates programme enabling 5 young people per year to deliver an annual ‘set piece’ project.   

Undertake all aspects of direct life story work with young people referred to the Project.

Engage directly with Foster Carers and Adoptive Parents

Engage appropriately Birth family members, previous foster carers,Trust staff etc

Contribute to all aspects of the development and maintenance of good social work practice with young people and families.

Assist in managing referrals, assessing incoming information, maintaining statistical data, and contributing to bi-annual and other returns.
