Cedar deliver a range of services that enable people with disabilities, autism and brain injury to get the most out of life and to be fully included in their communities. Our services are centred around the individual needs of each person and are delivered throughout Northern Ireland supporting children and adults to live, work and to engage in their communities.

The Cedar Foundation is seeking to recruit the following staff member:

Floating Support Worker                                                      Ref: 19/064/FSW-FSS/WEB

Providing a Floating Support Service to adults with disabilities who require housing support to develop their capacity to live independently. 

Working With Adults with Physical Disability, Brain Injury 

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to be a member of a multi-disciplined team using holistic approaches.  Cedar has a commitment to service user participation and to empower service users to manage their own lives and to receive a high degree of care, support and dignity.

Hours:            23 hours across Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm  

Salary:            3 point incremental scale commencing on £18,426 per annum pro rata

Contract:        Permanent

Location:        Southern H&SC Trust area – floating support

Office:             Office base: An Storas, Ballybot House, Corn Market, Newry, BT35 8BG

Essential:      

  • Basic qualification to NVQ level 2 or equivalent 
  • Minimum of 1 year’s paid and/or voluntary experience of providing support services to people with disabilities or other vulnerable individuals
  • Knowledge of the effects of disability
  • Effective communication skills to meet the needs of the post in full
  • Hold a full current driving licence valid for use in the UK and Ireland and have access to a car on appointment (discounted mileage available)*

*This criterion will be waived in the case of a suitable applicant who has a disability which prohibits them from driving but who is able to organise suitable alternative arrangements in order to meet the requirements of the post in full.
