Finance Officer

A unique opportunity has arisen within the finance department of Thriving Life church. The Finance Officer will be key member of TLC.

You’ll get to play a role in helping us attain our vision of reaching spiritually lost people in Newtownards and beyond, while working in a friendly and supportive work environment.

This is a busy role with a varied workload, competitive salary, and a permanent contract.

The job duties will include:

  • Produce Monthly Management accounts
  • Maintenance of accurate financial records using Sage 50  
  • Processing cash receipts and supplier payments 
  • Bank postings and reconciliation
  • Invoicing, Lodgements etc
  • Employee and volunteer expenses claim review and processing
  • Nominal ledger journals
  • Payroll and budgeting
  • Preparing Year end accounts for auditors

This is not an exhaustive list of duties.

Essential Criteria:

We are looking for someone who has:

  • At least an NVQ level 3 (A level equivalent) or a relevant finance qualification.
  • At least two years’ experience working in a busy finance department. 
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • The ability to demonstrate a high level of accuracy
  • The ability to work to deadlines
  • Good all-round communication and organisational skills.
