Finance and Administration Worker – Horn of Africa People’s Aid NI

Salary: £17,802 - £19,126 (NJC Scale 4 Point 19-21)

Hours: 18 hours per week (pro rata)

Contract Type: Fixed term contract (extension possible depending on funding)

Based at: Horn of Africa People’s Aid Northern Ireland (HAPANI) office in Belfast

Closing date for applications: 22nd of July 2019

HAPANI is a small charity based on Botanic Avenue, Belfast. Our primary purpose is to empower individuals from the Horn of Africa and beyond by creating initiatives that work to integrate with local communities, equality and help find employment. We do this by providing quality services from our office. We are passionate about unlocking the potential of these new communities and transforming the lives of asylum seekers and refugees. Also, by creating and participating in events that build bridges between communities to promote acceptance and challenge intolerance to make safer communities for everyone.

We are currently seeking to recruit a competent individual to fill a Finance and Administration role in, addition, to support the organisation in Human Resources in liaison with the HAPANI manager. We are looking for someone who can work independently and part of a team in addition to having a knowledge of our field of operation. This individual should have experience in finance and accounting, as well as financial analysing skills, be able to manage multiple funding streams at the same time and confident ability with Microsoft office software. It is desired to be bilingual in English, and either Somali or Arabic as the position will require excellent communication with people from multiple backgrounds.
