Action for Children, Northern Ireland

Carer Professions
£17,267 per annum

Action for Children does what's right, does what's needed and does what works for children in the UK. Every year, our team changes the lives of 301,000 children, young people and families.

The Ballymote Family Project provides Sure Start and Family Support services. We provide a range of services which include universal services, early intervention and targeted interventions. This includes improving outcomes for children who are neglected or abused, whose parents are separating, having difficulties in school, returning to live at home, young people who have a caring role, families whose tenancy is at risk and families at risk of breakdown.

Family Support is a service which offers families advice and support as well as offering parents the opportunity to develop their skills to carry out the daily tasks in bringing up a family. Ideally we are looking for someone to work full time (generally Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm) but would consider someone who could do 4 full days a week (30 hours).

How will you make a difference?

By assessing the needs of the children and their parents

By providing appropriate support on a 1:1 basis to children and/or their parents

By providing practical quality care, support interventions and a range of activities and experiences to children and families in line with agreed plans.

By contacting and liaising with other agencies to obtain more information and on-going support for the children and families as necessary

By being alert to child protection and safeguarding issues and alert appropriate line managers about concerns in line with our safeguarding policies and procedures

What will you need?

What are the rewards?

Plus, there's a lot more besides.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to vulnerable children's lives and to build a fulfilling and meaningful career with a leading UK children's charity.

Action for Children is committed to safer recruitment practices, designed to protect the welfare of the children and young people using our services.
