Family Support Worker
Sense
Hours: 21 hours per week, part time
Location: Manor House, Mallusk
Contract type: Temporary
Salary: Circa £19,500 per annum, pro rata
About the roles
Sense are looking for two Family Support Workers to work part time 21 hours per week. You will support children and families at 'Time to Play' groups across Northern Ireland; in their homes and local communities through the provision of home visits, play and leisure activities. You will also work with other services to provide information, training and support designed to create a local support network for each family. You will be required to travel throughout Northern Ireland. These are fixed term roles funded until February 2021.
About the project
Family Focus is a Northern Ireland wide project funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and led by Guide Dogs NI in partnership with Angel Eyes NI and Sense. The project provides support to children with sight loss aged 0-4 years and their families. Sense works specifically with children who have a visual impairment and additional needs/complex needs.
About you
Experience working in the Early Years sector is essential as a key feature of the role is to work alongside parents to progress developmental goals specific to each individual child. This role requires regular travel across Northern Ireland, so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle or an alternative method of fulfilling the travel related duties of the role is essential.

Working as a Support Worker at Sense can be incredibly rewarding; we offer the opportunity to work in a large, diverse and successful charity where people can develop their skills, knowledge and careers in a supportive and flexible environment.
