Child and Family Support is a vital part of our work. As a Family Support Practitioner, you'll be working in our Family Support Hub which provides a sign posting service to families who need help but do not meet the criteria for statutory services, to enable them to access services for support and advice in their area.

This role will be working 30 hours a week (either 4 or 5 days a week) to be split across our locations in Enniskillen and Omagh.

 

How will you make a difference?

By providing a high quality, customer focused service to children and families

By completing initial assessments and follow ups with the families either in their own home or at our services

By researching the services available to the families in their area depending on their need and, if required, helping them access these

By developing effective working relationships with colleagues and partner agencies

By applying Action for Children's professional practice standards

By establishing relationships and links within the community to assist children and their families.

 

What will you need?

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in early years and childcare, social care or other related background.
  • Experience of working directly with families in their own home.
  • Excellent communication skills, including IT.
  • Ability to work unsupervised, using your own initiative to problem solve.
  • Access to a car with business insurance. The job requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
  • The ability to work flexibly including occasional evening and weekend work, by prior arrangement.
  • Registered with NISCC or be willing to register.
  • Minimum 29 days' holiday (pro rata)
