This role is an exciting opportunity to join our frontline team of Family Services Officers around the UK, ensuring a high quality, responsive, knowledgeable support service is offered. This a job share position so you will be working in partnership with another Family Services Officer. The role is part of a project funded by the Northern Health and Social care trust and provides lots of practical support to the families within this trust area, including personalised support, event and activities and resource development.

Drawing on your knowledge, skills and experience of supporting children, young people and families, you will provide a superb frontline service. This will involve ensuring the advice, information and guidance you provide is accurate, up to date and reflecting best practice. The role will require you to lead on training for parents and run events for families. The role offers the opportunity to respond to need and propose new resources which would benefit young people with vision impairment. You will work creatively with managers and young people themselves to co-develop and deliver our events; whether virtual or face to face.
With knowledge and experience of this area, you will have an appreciation of the issues facing children and young people and will know how best to support them and their families to navigate and advocate for themselves.
This post is home based with an opportunity for hybrid working at our Belfast office. This role will require travel around Northern Ireland and could possibly involve some occasional travelling throughout the UK. This role is externally funded and its continuation is reviewed on an annual basis.
