'My life My Way' is a new project providing support to older people with dementia and their carers in the Belfast and Northern Trust areas. We urgently need volunteers in; Dundonald, Carryduff, East Belfast & Carrick

Volunteers are will be supported by the Community Navigator to help signpost and provide relevant information about services, care options and entitlements which will allow the individual with dementia and their carer to make better informed decisions.

It is hoped this will empower older people who have been diagnosed with dementia as they gain improved personal choice, control and Influence over decisions about their care as they recognise their dignity they deserve as they continue to live life their way less lonely.

As a Information & Support Volunteer you will:
◾Learn new skills
◾Feel great about making a positive and life changing difference
◾Learn and share your knowledge about related services and activities in the local area and how to access them.
*Receive reimbursed travel expenses
*Receive on-going training and guidance, one-to-one support
*Gain experience into the ageing and dementia process.

This volunteer role is flexible to suit your availability (Daytime, eveings, weekends). Minimum comitment required: 2 hours per fortnight.
