Employer Engagement Officer

Impact Training (NI) Ltd is currently looking for an enthusiastic Employment Engagement Officer to assist in the preparation of 16-19 year old young people for work placement and to promote the Apprenticeship programme with local employers

This post will offer 22.5 - 30 hours per week.

The Employer Engagement Officer, based at our training centre on Lanark Way Belfast, will be responsible for:

• Ensure 16-19 year old students are adequately prepared for work placement
• Arrange work placements and work experience for 16-19 year olds that provide opportunities for progression to employment and Apprenticeships or Further Education
• Promote the Apprenticeship programme to new and existing employers and actively recruit eligible apprentices

The successful candidate will have:

Essential Criteria

• Experience in working with young people
• Understanding of the needs and challenges facing young people from marginalised backgrounds and/or with disabilities.
• Understanding of the local labour market and employer needs

• Understanding of the Apprenticeship programme and frameworks
• Excellent communication, presentation and administrative skills
• English and Maths at GCSE A*-C or equivalent
• Clean driving licence and access to a car

Desirable Criteria

• Level 3 qualification in a related discipline
• Experience of working as part of a team to implement strategies that support young people to overcome their individual barriers to education, training or employment,
• Experience of Microsoft Word and Excel
