CRIS is seeking to appoint a Development Officer who will play a key role in the delivery of the organisations NI Community Relations Council Core Funded workplans and the development of sustainable approaches to reconciliation through education.

Community Relations In Schools (CRIS) is a peacebuilding and education charity that works in partnership with schools, district councils and other statutory providers to positively and systematically address the separated context of living in Northern Ireland. Through strategic action, service delivery, reflective practice, advocacy and research – CRIS has developed unique, multi-faceted, collaborative approaches to achieve its mission which is:

About the Role:

Job Title:                                 Development Officer

Anticipated Interview Date: Friday 7th June 2019   

Salary scale:                            £25,500 - £27,500 per annum

Hours:                                     37.5 hours per week (occasional evening work may be necessary)

Contract:                                8th July 2019 – 31st Mar 2022

(Possibility of an extension pending continued funding)

Responsible to:                      CRIS Director

Place of Work:                        The ‘Development Officer’ will operate from the CRIS office and will regularly travel to schools and other venues across Northern Ireland.

Closing Date:  12 noon Wednesday 29th May 2019

Circumstances:  Access to a car is necessary to travel between sites to carry out the tasks associated with this role.  Applicants must possess a full and valid driving licence. Employees will be required to provide proof of car insurance to allow for work related use

Benefits:        

Negotiable pay scale dependent on experience and performance

25 Annual Leave Days plus 12 Customary

About the programme:

CRIS has been in receipt of CORE Funding from the Northern Ireland Community Relations Council, (CRC) since 2014. These funds enable the organisation to realise its strategic vision through the delivery of operational plans.

Within this new Core Funding Period (2019 – 2022), CRIS has committed to undertake the following:

  1. Maintain, develop and grow the sustainability of existing multi-sector school partnerships that use Good Relations and peacebuilding as a means to address the separated nature of education in Northern Ireland.
  2. Support the establishment and growth of multi-sector collaborative school partnerships in new localities in Northern Ireland.
  3. Support the growth of inter-school community reconciliation programmes that engage staff, pupils and families in North and West Belfast.
  4. Collate, develop and disseminate practice resources for the education, community and peace sectors. This is inclusive of development work on the CRIS Website.
