We are looking for a full time Deputy Manager on a fixed term contract until the end of 2019. This post may be made permanent subject to funding.

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity. We help around 193,000 cats and kittens each year through our network of around 250 volunteer-run branches and 36 adoption centres and homing centres. We are now seeking an additional Deputy Adoption Centre Manager to join our team in Belfast on a fixed term contract until the end of 2019.

Following our vision of a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs, we are an ambitious charitable organisation with a rich feline history dating back over 80 years. At Cats Protection, we are passionate about cats and couple our love of everything feline with a professional approach that will aid us in our mission to home cats, provide an effective neutering service and improve the public’s understanding of cats and their needs.

We are looking for people who share our values of placing cats and their welfare first, never putting a healthy cat to sleep, valuing and respecting our volunteers, supporters and staff, providing the highest quality of service and being open and honest.

So, if you are seeking a role where you can put your management skills to the test as well as making sure that your favourite furry friends are well looked after and have a bright future, we want to hear from you.

As one of the Deputy Adoption Centre Managers, you will be tasked with managing an efficiently run homing centre in line with Cats Protection’s main aims of homing, neutering and educating. You will ensure the welfare of all cats in our care and ensure that all administrative and maintenance procedures are completed to a high standard that is in keeping with our vision.

Involved in all aspects of the running of the centre, you will ensure the site is staffed effectively, the cats are looked after properly and all policies and procedures are followed and adhered to.

So, is this the role for you? If so, we are looking for:

- A team leader or someone with experience as a supervisor, ideally within an animal welfare environment or organisation, preferably with cats
- Knowledge of the prevention and control of infectious diseases in cats
- A full, valid driving licence is essential
- A flexible approach to working hours including the ability to work weekends

Driven, positive and enthusiastic, as a Deputy Adoption Centre Manager, you’ll also need plenty of initiative and the ability to thrive under pressure. Great communication, interpersonal and organisation skills will be key, as is an adaptable approach.

Knowledge of veterinary treatment or medication would be beneficial to your application.

Closing date - 28 August 2019
Interviews - 11 - 12 September 2019

Cats Protection is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
