Job Description

Do you like socialising, music and getting involved in the local community? As a Support Worker in our Keady service you will be passionate about all these things and more as well as have an opportunity to support people with a learning disability to enjoy these things too! You will be supporting the people we support to go out for meals, lose themselves in the latest cinema release, go to concerts, on holidays, overnight stays and join in other activities within their local area.

You will be working as part of a team of passionate Support Workers based at the service to support the individuals we support to look after themselves and their home. The level of support provided will vary depending on each individual’s needs.

Experience within the care sector is an advantage but not essential as we will give you all the training needed to be able to start your new and rewarding career.

As a support worker, flexibility is key for both yourself and for the service, as you may be required to work a variety of different shifts throughout the week, including mornings (ideal for you early risers!), evenings, sleep-ins and potential waking nights (Payment for sleep ins is competitive and compliant with National Living Wage requirements). The best thing about flexibility? It's a two-way street. While we may require that you work a variety of shifts, we also understand that you’ll have your own requirements – have you got commitments on a Thursday? Not to worry, we can factor this in, as well as other requests (provided you give us enough notice) into our rotas.

These roles require you to be motivated, have excellent communication skills as well as proven experience of working effectively within a team.

An enhanced disclosure check and registration with NISCC will be required if successful.
