Counselling Operations Manager - P/T

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive counselling operations manager to work with a small administrative team to support a network of freelance and employed counsellors to deliver on a fixed 2 year contract.

Job Purpose:


To manage and coordinate all aspects of the Huddle Project

This role will involve regular one to one contact with children and adults with disabilities and / or mental ill health. Access NI checks will be completed for all applicants.

 

Key Responsibilities include: 

  • Overseeing a network of self-employed freelance counsellors and employed counsellors to ensure that uHub meets its delivery and quality targets and adheres to clinical governance policies and procedures. 
  • Ensuring requisite quality and contractual targets are met. Including measures for under performance. 
  • Leading a small administrative team who support referral activation and client bookings.  
  • Managing the intake of counselling / group work referrals to the service, including client assessments and allocation of clients to appropriate treatment wait-lists. Support the administrative team with client bookings and wait-list management during busy periods as needed (to include service delivery) 
  • Monitoring and providing a monthly status report on uHub’s contractual delivery and quality targets. 
  • Managing the use of uHub’s counselling venues ensuring positive interactions with other healthcare / community and voluntary professionals based at these venues. 
  • Updating and developing new policies and procedures to support the successful best practice delivery services. 
  • Managing release of information requests as designated ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) representative. 
  • Recruiting and training a small number of trainee counsellors/facilitators each year on placement at uHub. 
  • Representing uHub at occasional meetings or during the job shares absence (with appropriate briefing and preparation). 
  • Working with the potential jobshare on project development ideas and implementations. 
  • Supporting uHub’s Board of Trustees on individual projects. 

 

Interested candidates should be qualified counsellors; BACP or NCS accredited (or working towards accreditation) and preferably have the range of knowledge, skills and experience indicated below: 

 

    Essential Criteria: 

  • Minimum 3 year’s experience of managing a small team  
  • Minimum of level 5 CPCAB qualification or equivalent
  • Qualification in therapeutic CYP practice and a minimum 3 years related practice  
  • Minimum of 1200 clinical supervised hours practice  
  • Strong understanding of mental health issues  
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills  
  • Strong technology skills (familiar with word, excel, etc)  
  • Proven experience of working with funders to help meet project outcomes and reporting  
  • Experience using CMS s-ystems, in particular BACPAC  

 

Desirable Criteria: 

  • Experience of accounts and payroll
  • Experience of supervision in a clinical setting and line management
  • Experience of design and delivery of workshops and being able to monitor this from an outcomes based approach

Summary of main conditions of service

Salary: The salary is £36,800 p.a. (pro-rata if part-time/job share) based on skills and experience.  Total hours funded per week will be 20hrs per week.

 

NJC Point: Salary in line with NJC scale 40-42 (currently £36,153 to £38,052) 

 

Contract: Two year contract, contract may be extended if further funding is secured

Hours:The role is ideally part-time but job share may be possible due to the demands of the post and the working hours involved in delivery.

Place of work: The position is predominantly based in Bangor, but will require some working at outreach centres in North Down and Ards, and will include evenings and weekend work as required

 Applicants must have a current driving license or access to a form of transport which allows them to undertake the duties of the post in full.
