The Conservation Volunteers

14.00
Winter is coming - and so is tree-planting season! TCV works with landowners to help improve their greenspaces and the winter season is our busiest time of the year. We are recruiting across our volunteer teams with a focus on our Belfast projects.

We are seeking your support for our practical projects delivered from our base in Belfast. These are outdoor practical roles, although if you have an interest and skills in admin or project development please do get in touch.

Our Conservation Action Teams are small groups of volunteers who help landowners make improvements to the environmental value of their land. They also help schools and community groups to build quality outdoor spaces to be enjoyed by people and wildlife. The projects are varied and throughout winter we will be tree-planting, building living willow structures and helping with winter maintenance.

Volunteering helps build skills and a network of friends and all the physical work is good for your health and wellbeing. We are an inclusive organisation and welcome volunteers from all backgrounds. If you have the ability to undertake practical tasks and are happy to work in the outdoors, this could be for you.

Is this role for you?

You will be able to follow Health and Safety instructions and use a variety of hand tools.

You need to be reasonably fit as all tasks are moderately physical and some carrying of tools and materials will be required.

You will arrange your own transport to our office to meet with the team.

You will be prepared to venture into the outdoors throughout the wintery season (waterproofs are provided).

How will TCV support you?

Full training for each project will be given.

We will provide some personal protective wear if you do not have your own.

We will provide appropriate accredited training where needed.

We will provide references and employability support for those seeking employment.

Expenses will be paid, subject to agreement with your leader.

You will be fully insured to work across all our projects.

We encourage progression and will help make the most of your skills and abilities.

All volunteers must be 18 or over.

Please contact us to arrange a chat and we can match you to our most suitable project. Projects vary from day to day and all volunteer roles are subject to your suitability for each task.
