Hearing Link NI has a maternity vacancy for a part time (28 hours pw) Community Services Manager, responsible for all services delivery and volunteer activity in Northern Ireland. Closing date 14th August. Funded by The National Lottery, Community Fund.

Hearing Link is part of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and helps people with any level of hearing loss reconnect with life. Through shared experiences, practical support and guidance from people who live with hearing loss themselves, we help people adjust to the practical and emotional challenges hearing loss can bring, along with their family and friends. We have helped thousands so far and we aim to help many more. Hearing Link is looking for someone to cover a maternity vacancy for at least 7 months.  This is a part-time position working 28 hours a week, including some evening and weekend work, based in Northern Ireland.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all people-centred services delivery and volunteer activity throughout Northern Ireland. The role includes co-ordinating the effective delivery of remote and community based services, developing a growing network of volunteers and delivering training and mentoring programmes for volunteers

The successful applicant will have successful project management experience, will be skilled at leading and co-ordinating volunteer teams, and will have the ability to work as part of a complex and dynamic team. Experience of training, coaching and mentoring others is essential, as well as a thorough understanding of the challenges faced by those with hearing loss. A sound understanding of how peer to peer support programmes work is necessary, with the ability to understand the volunteer-charity relationship.

This is a home-based post that requires regular travel throughout Northern Ireland, and occasionally throughout the rest of the UK and is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
