Community Integration and Befriending Support Worker
Belfast (travel to NI services required)
Fixed-term for one year
The Role:
- Oversee the running of a Befriending Programme to support individuals overcome social isolation
- Providing practical support helping people move into a new home, maintaining that home and assisting with creating a social network in the community
- Work with service users to build a network of support to assist with social connectedness and help individuals settle into their home
- Empowering people to live their own lives, build their confidence, reconnect with family and friends and provide practical advice and support as needed
- Support individuals with community-based companionship
- Work with individuals to regain a place in their local community through re-education of self-behaviour and actions
The Person:
- 1 years’ experience in the homelessness, community or volunteering sector
- 3 GCSES to include English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Experience working with Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel to produce reports
- Ability to work in a low threshold environment, working with individuals with challenging and complex needs
- Full driving licence and access to a car insured for business purposes*
*This criteria is waived for those unable to meet it due to disability
