This is an exciting new role within our charity. We are seeking a confident and innovative communication specialist who can work within our small staff team to ensure Rosie’s Trust’s strategic and operational objectives are achieved and excelled.

They will be self-motivated, creative, and dynamic, ensuring that all relevant stakeholders know and understand our work and most importantly assist with the development of our service to enable us to support more beneficiaries both human and animal throughout N Ireland

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Strategy & leadership

  • Create and deliver a strategic communications plan for Rosie’s Trust
  • Direct and support the Staff and Volunteer teams in managing the Rosie’s Trust brand
  • Initiate and develop new media relationships
  • Create a suite of effective marketing materials
  • Manage external agencies in the delivery of the communications objectives Rosie’s Trust

Operational delivery

  • Provide day-to-day management and administration of internal and external communications
  • Engaging with volunteer teams and beneficiaries, manage, create, schedule, and deliver content for Rosie’s Trust digital presence (including website, social media:- Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and any other relevant platforms)
  • Ensure effective communication within the staff team and participate in team activities
  • Develop presentations on the work of RT and support and train volunteers to present externally
  • Develop effective case study templates to support staff and volunteers in demonstrating the impact of RT services.
  • Assist the staff team in the recruitment, support, and management of an extensive team of volunteers throughout Northern Ireland
  • Manage and support a team of phone support volunteers.
  • Implement and develop evaluation processes to monitor and improve the impact of volunteering
  • Create and deliver volunteer recognition activities.
  • Assist in the coordination of the staff and volunteer health and well-being programme
  • Represent Rosie’s Trust professionally as and when required

Ensure effective communication

  • Maximise the promotion of the work of Rosie’s Trust through various social media platforms  and other external media channels
  • Ensure that communication happens in a positive manner, disseminating the practices, benefits, and impact of Rosie’s Trust service to external stakeholders to promote sustainable funding.
  • Provide a monthly activity and progress report to line manager
  • Utilise a wide range of online communication tools to communicate with staff team and volunteers.

Other

  • Undertake any other work appropriate with the evolving objectives of the post and as may be reasonably requested by the Operational Director or Senior Management.
  • The post holder may be required to transport animals as and when service requires (please note full training will be given)
  • To comply with organisation’s policies and procedures
  • Be available to work at weekends and evenings, as and when required.
  • Will be required to be part of an ‘on call’ rota.
  • This is a regulated position, an enhanced disclosure will be required
