Childcare Worker - Maternity Cover - Deadline Extended

Role:           

The Childcare worker will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of a range of programmes at various locations in the Sure Start area.  They will be responsible for organizing and implementing a stimulating and varied programme of activities for children under the age of four, within a group setting and on an individual level and will carry out any other reasonable duties, which will enhance the quality of life of pre-school children within the Sure Start area.

Main Duties:

1. To provide an overall safe, stimulating, caring and varied programme of play and learning opportunities for all children who attend Sure Start programmes.

2. To promote the overall development of children and to work in the interest of the children at all times and provide a welcoming child centred environment.

3. To contribute to the development of children specific to their needs and to seek professional advice if the situation arises.

4. To develop a supportive relationship with parents/carers and encourage parental involvement within the Sure Start project.

5. To develop and maintain good relationships with children, parents, colleagues,volunteers, students, other agencies, community groups, schools and nurseries.
