To lead the planning and delivery a continuously developing programme of arts, crafts and upcycling activities to support adults with an Acquired Brain Injury (survivors) and their carers.
- Head Injury Support is a charity that responds to the ongoing support needs of survivors, carers and the wider family of an adult that has acquired a brain injury.
- We provide opportunities to minimise social isolation through the provision of social, recreational and leisure activities and now through involvement through meaningful and purposeful activities in our social economy business enterprise - ‘Creative Minds’ where the products created – arts, crafts and upcycling are sold from our shop front and the money reinvested into the organisation;
- We also provide advice and guidance and signposting for those who require it.
- Through recent awarding of funding through ‘The National Lottery - People & Community Programme’, to deliver a four-year support programme that will grow and develop our budding craft based social enterprise business and that will see the involvement of our survivors from the 3 satellite groups that we deliver support too and include people who have had a diagnosis of stroke.
- Under the guidance and lead of the Centre Activity Co-ordinator a key feature is a partnership model with our survivors, in terms of the development, delivery and content, to ensure that it remains responsive - through their involvement and feedback and cognisant of their interests and needs.
